Soul Nebula from my remote observatory
The Soul Nebula (Westerhout 5) is an emission nebula located in the constellation Cassiopeia. It forms a famous pair known as the Heart and Soul with the neighbouring Heart Nebula (IC 1805). The Soul Nebula is sometimes also known as the Embryo Nebula or IC 1848, which is a designation used for the open star cluster embedded within the nebula.
I captured lights for this image during several clear nights, which are in Slovenia during winter quite rare. At the end it turned out great.
With my new Twinstar FG 80 mount the stars are pinpoint sharp and guiding was perfect, despite not setting polar alignment perfectly right.
In total there was 136 light frames (300s, UV IR cut) stacked in Pixinsight calibrated with 20 Flat frames, 5 dark frames (had some issue with light leak on Skywatcher Newtonian telescope) and 20 Bias frames. Further processing was quite easy also done in Pixinsight.
